A casino, also known as a gaming house or a gambling establishment, is an establishment where people can play various games of chance for money. The games played in casinos are usually very fast and the prizes can be quite large. Casinos may also offer other services such as restaurants, bars and entertainment. They are most often found in cities and tourist destinations, but they can be built on reservations or other private land.
Despite being one of the most violent movies from Martin Scorsese, Casino is a riveting thriller that never lags in the middle or runs out of steam by the end. The cast is led by a tremendous performance from Robert De Niro and a memorable turn from Sharon Stone as Ginger McKenna. Joe Pesci’s Santoro is a menacing force to be reckoned with as well.
Although the movie focuses on three main characters, the larger story of organized crime in Las Vegas is revealed in subtle ways throughout the film. It’s a complex tale of greed and corruption, with tendrils reaching into politics, the Teamsters union and the Chicago mob.
To run a casino smoothly, high level staff is key. Avoid hiring low level Floormen (a lot of false accused cheaters), Bouncers and Cooks (they set your casino on fire while cooking). Ideally you want to have at least a 5 and 6 for the positions of Cashiers, Waiters and Repairman. This helps the game run much smoother as they are able to complete their tasks a lot faster.
