The potential to win big makes for an unforgettable experience.

Casino

A casino is a place that allows a variety of gambling activities and tries to lure customers in with luxuries. While the word “casino” often refers to a specific building, it can also refer to a gaming area in any kind of public venue. Some casinos have restaurants, free drinks and stage shows, while others are more stripped-down.

Something about casinos (perhaps it’s the glamor or the money) seems to encourage cheating and stealing, so security is very important. Besides the obvious surveillance cameras and security guards, there are also many employees on hand to help keep players honest. Dealers, for example, are trained to spot blatant cheating such as palming or marking cards. They also watch for betting patterns that could indicate someone is stealing from them.

Casino is one of Martin Scorsese’s most violent movies, but it remains riveting throughout its three-hour runtime. De Niro and Sharon Stone are both outstanding as Ginger McKenna and Santoro, respectively, while Joe Pesci adds another dimension to his character as a ruthless mobster. The movie is filled with memorable scenes, including the infamous car bomb scene and the scene where De Niro threatens to torture his wife with a vice.
